Loose Marquise Diamond.
Q.The norm is 10 kt gold. My engagement ring is from South Africa and that's in 18kt gold and it's too soft, I tend to bend then out of shape in no time but I have to agree that the higher the gold is, the nicer it looks. I was born on the 19th so my engagement ring has 1 marquise diamond and 18 little ones surrounding it. I made a mistake with my three rings, hubby was quick in pointing out that he doesn't go for the cheap stuff. they are 14kt gold Can you imagine the price because it's not readily available though?
A.22 kt is too soft, heck I keep having to go to the jewlers so he can fix my ring, it keeps getting bent out of shape. Anything more than 10 kt and I mess them up in no time usually. I'm surprised that it took the ice storm to mess up my engagement ring. Just as well that I didn't loose the marquise I've never lost stones either bur Marquise diamonds are renounded for slipping out even if you have 6 claws. My ring is from South Africa and it has a collar, so you can't loose the diamond. All my rings are bent out of shape except for my wedding band but it's very thick and I requested it in 10Kt gold.
