Diamond stones: Norton vs. DMT Diasharp .

Q.I'm thinking of getting a coarse diamond stone to flatten waterstones with. I see two choices, the Norton 220 grit for $85 or the DMT DiaSharp 325 grit for $60. I can't find any information about the DMT product (such as specifications for how flat it is) and there was some talk in the past about DMT products being significantly far from flat. Does anybody know how these DiaSharp stones measure up? Is there some reason to shell out the extra $25 for the Norton?

A.don't do it, the grit i've heard ( in here the NG i think) eats the nickel that holds the diamond to the steel. after hearing that that explained the rust spots near the edge of my diamond hone, ( eight years old or so ) i like my diamond hone and want to keep it nice and ready for honing and not for sacrificial waterstone use. get a diamond hone, but get a $2 concrete block for leveling waterstones. i never tried the open mesh abrasive, but it must work. i have a 100 and 220 (jap grit) waterstones and they are easily flattened with the concrete block as are the 800 and 1200.
