Large Diamond Hoop Earring
Q.6 carat Marquis diamond with sides of 1/2 carat pears - also a replacement - it was my 21st anniversary gift from hubby. (Anyone remember my 20th anniversary gift?) Didn't it have something to do with large amounts of roses?
A.Gold hoop earring, little bigger in circumference than quarters. I wear other things but this is what I return to again and again. I wear the following all the time, never taking them off. Gold hoop earrings, so thin they are barely bigger than a single strand of hair. I love how they are of such tiny, tiny pieces of gold. I have a 2nd set of holes in my earlobes, where I can wear bigger earrings if I want to. A sterling silver "I Love You" bracelet from my husband, formed of X and O shapes to signify kisses and hugs. My grandmother's white and yellow gold pinky ring. A bit of a thing with a few very small diamonds in it. I remember seeing her wear it when I was little, and I always wondered why she never cleaned it. It always had dough in it. Well, I make bread or biscuits everyday now, too, same as she did. And the ring is once again filled with dough all the time. My gold wedding band from my husband, along with the platinum diamond engagement ring that belonged to my mother. My father was killed in Vietnam when I was 10, and after his death my mother could never bring herself to wear this ring again. It made her too sad. A few years ago she gave it to me. Every time I look down at it on my hand, I remember how much in love my parents were. That reminder prompts me to tell my husband everyday that I love him, because you just never know when you might lose someone you adore.
