Fit of wedding band w/ engagement ring ?
Q.I had my engagement ring custom made, and now i'm having an impossible time finding a wedding band to fit flushly with the ring. (Yes, i should have thought of that before, but i didn't!) My question is: does anyone have this problem? A small gap between the engagement ring and wedding band? and if so, do you find it uncomfortable or do you not even notice it?? I'm thinking that i'll be okay with the gap, once i get my wedding band (June '99!!)
A.i did not get my engagement ring custom made but the shape of the band will require me to have my wedding band custom made. the ones i have tried on are neither comfortable with my engagement ring or look right with it. have your thought about having a wedding band custom made to match your engagement ring? it will probably look beautiful and fit comfortably. I've thought about it, and pretty much the only thing they can do, is put a small notch on one side, to sort of "cradle" the center stone (it's a three stone ring...diamond with a sapphire on each side). I sort of don't want to have a wedding band with a notch because it may look a little wacky if i want to wear the band alone (like in a few years when i'm changing poopy diapers!!hahah!!) I have a 3 marquise diamond engagement ring that was custom made. I had to have the wedding band custom made, too, with 3 notches in it to accomodate the engagement ring. It looks wonderful together. I, too, preferred not to have this done because I could forsee times when I might prefer to wear the wedding band alone. So far this has not happened, and I happily wear both all of the time. One way that I could wear just the band is to turn it around so the notches are palm side. Another option is to buy a cheaper ring at Sam's Club or even WalMart. We bought Andy a 10k band for around $40 that he wears every day (which makes me mad that he didn't return the too tight 14K comfort fit band when we still could, but that's another story).
