Jewelry Q & A

Genuine Diamond Engagement Ring, Want some advice on buying engagement ring ?

Q.OK, I'm going to ask my girlfriend to get married. She lives in a country of the former USSR. Assuming positive feedback on this important question, we will go shopping (there) for the engagement ring, wedding band thing. She is very practical minded, and will not need the biggest, most expensive rock on the block. However, I want to get something that is nice. We will not have a problem with a synthetic diamond - just something that looks very good. It used to be that the only kind of synthetic diamond was cubic zirconia, but now it seems that there are many other options. As for size and color, I would want something that looks nice, and on her petite fingers, 1 carat would probably be more than enough. So I am just wondering what I should look into and expect as far as prices, etc. It seems that every website I Google to tells me how a genuine diamond is a great investment, etc., but I tend to think that is just marketing BS. Eventually, even the greatest testers in the world will not be able to tell the difference between a genuine diamond and a much cheaper synthetic, thereby making the residual value of genuine diamonds much lower.

A.If she is from the former USSR, then it is likely she is well-educated and very much a proponent of "eqalitarian" concepts like equality-for-all. If this is so ... will she be buying you a diamond???? We know the answer. Tell the bitch to get on her knees and start sucking, and MAYBE you will take her to McDonalds - if she swallows. How can it be a good investment if you can't even get more when you sell it than what you paid for it? lol The diamond business is controlled by jews and I wouldn't believe any of their hype or bullshit. Diamonds are not something that are easy to sell like real estate or stocks or is it easy to determine their value. Even if you could buy them wholesale, how do you sell them for a profit? A dealer will only give you the wholesale price but you probably won't even get that because they'll "jew you down" haha Actually, in Eastern Europe there is no custom as in the states to buy a diamond engagement ring. NONE! That's probably why she's so practical about it. :-) Generally, you can find very nice diamond engagement rings for as little as 250 bucks. You will probably NOT find them in the city center (that's usually mafioso run and they have to pay off their don so you get the markup). If you go to a shopping mall outside of town or the bazaar, you'll probably get a very nice ring that will make her happy. She'll probably want to help pick it out anyway. Don't buy her something she probably wouldn't have picked! She may be partial to Russian "blue" tinted diamonds. As I said, you probably shouldn't buy it on your own and then go there. She will want to spend a week going to stores to pick it out. For you to just give her the diamond is like you going fishing and her giving you all the fish in a bucket.
