Fake Diamond Earring
Q.probably not wearing anything of much value since many large earrings are only gold-plated. Few people are walking around city streets wearing earrings valuable enough to be worth stealing by physical assault. I never seen anyone with diamond earrings?
A.I'm sure street criminals are aware of the fact that fake stones exist. If someone is robbing a house, they have the chance to see where the woman keeps her earrings. Women tend to keep nice jewelry in nice boxes and cheap jewelry in cheap boxes. A street criminal isn't going to have that tip off .. a pair of fake diamond earrings on someone strolling down the street doesn't look that different from a pair of real diamond earrings. So, even though I am sure some earrings have been stolen in situations where a criminal committed armed robbery and had the time to make the victim take the earrings off and hand them over, I really doubt even diamond earrings are pulled off the earlobes by passing robbers. Particularly since diamond earrings tend to be studs.
