Q.I am thinking of bidding on a watch and although it doesn't specifically say that it is authentic in the listing, the seller has responded to another buyer that it is in fact authentic and it is posted in the auction page. Question...if I buy it and it turns out to be fake, does eBay provide any sort of insurance/protection?

The first rule of buying jewelry on eBay is DON'T!!! If you must, only spend what you are willing to hand to a street beggar or mugger since it's totally and utterly foolish to buy any jewelry over $19.95 on eBay. You are guaranteed to get a fake, substandard, or mall quality item. Buying jewelry should only be done locally from a trusted jeweler.
