Diamond Butterfly Pendant
Q.I hope this is the correct newsgroup to post this message, and hope someone can help. I purchased a bunch of boxes with various items from the swap meet. One of the boxes contained paper items like old receipts, old greeting cards etc. There were also 4 stock certificates which show having been purchased between 1986 - 1996. Having bought and paid for the contents, wouldn't this legally make me the new owner of those stock certificates like the rest of the items I purchased ? If so, what do I need to do in order to sell the stock ?
A.For the past five years we've gone to one of the local swap meets, and frequent a couple of regular sellers mostly. They purchase the majority of their stuff from storage auction in 3 counties which we like, and store closeouts lots with closes, linens appliance returns etc. We buy other stuff too like pipes when they get them, having made any where from $25 - $260 per pipe. But mostly prefer paper memorabilia, sports card and jewelry closeouts. We've found approx $210 cash among the paper memorabilia in old greeting cards and such, and now the 4 stock certificates, a lot of gold and silver jewelry, a diamond and emerald butterfly pin appraised at $500, an authentic Rolex just date watch, a couple authentic Cartier and Gucci watches, a 26 diamond 14K heart pendant appraised for $1900. No original Mickey Mantle cards and such, but a lot of $5.00 - $20 cards, autographs, old tickets etc. We've sold two collections over the past five years of accumulating cards, and both sold for over $2000.
