Q.If you were going to begin with nothing and start to purchase good jewelry to wear in a professional setting, what basic items would you select?
A.A very good watch with probably a gold band...note this doesn't have to be an expensive watch but one that says I'm a professional basic earrings such as pearls or semi precious stones pearl necklace or gold necklace...pearls go in and out of vogue but never out of style I asuume you're talking about a law office and after living with a lawyer for 25 years and knowing many female lawyers it's the old addage less is best...in addition to wholesale jewelry marts in the big cities you can get some darn good stuff now on sale at macy's or other dept. stores...the purists might say the quality is not the same as the upscale jewelry store but i wouldn't have as much good jewelry as i do if we hadn't taken advantage of such sales...i have small diamond and ruby earrings purchased in hong kong 10 years ago, but about 5 years ago bob gave me a simple gold necklace with diamonds and rubies in the center from macys. no one looks at my jewels with one of those magnifying glasses. also a nice pair of gold hoops and then add a bracelet and additional items
