A.The ring is actually 2.07ct in 14kt white gold to be exact. I have 6 pictures I took last night if anyone wants to see, they were taken with a 1.8mp camera so they aren't great. My engagement ring wouldn't "work" with a wedding band for two reasons. There are "bands" of white gold perpendicular to the e-ring band which would prevent it from matching up with my wedding band unless I notched it, which is not an option. Also, the bands are different styles, my wedding band is rounded, and my e-ring band is more square. If that doesn't make sense, take my work for it, they look weird together. My solution? I moved my e-ring to my right hand, and everyone's happy. I don't wear any other rings, so it seemed silly to double up rings on one hand when I had all these other lonly fingers =) Oh yes! Someone at our wedding wanted to see how my engagement ring and wedding ring looked together, despite my explanation that they were never meant to be worn together. The wedding ring is a plain gold 7mm band (so, pretty wide), and the engagement ring is equally wide at the widest part, with a band that curves out a bit to accomodate the stone (amethyst) set flat. So they don't fit together, and attempting to wear them together gives me metal up to the knuckle. This was not a surprise -- traditional engagement ring settings look ditzy on my (large) hands, and a non-flat setting is a real annoyance for cooking, gardening, and wearing gloves during our six-month winters. (Also, I can destroy a pair of nylons just by looking at it -- *sure* I want a ring that would catch on it...)
