Excellent diamond ring for sale CHEAP!!! - must seeQ.G-H stone, emerald cut, VS1, 1.52 carats, platinum setting, with side diamonds, appraised for over $8,000 is for sale for $6,000. I just got dis-engaged and want to move on. I am selling the ring to recoup my losses, so don't haggle. Before any money changes hands, I will introduce you to the jewler who made the ring. He will furnish you with an appraisal. You are free to also pick your own; I am confident you won't be disappointed. A.As owner of a full service manufacturing tradeshop for over twenty three years I must say that I am distressed a bit that this stone is not independantly certified by a gemological institute, so that the grading is established... I've seldom see anyone in this industry use "split grades" for color because this makes a huge value difference in the stone... Appraisals often reflect three times what the components and materials cost, so the first advise I'd give here is to have the stone pulled and accurately graded at EGL or GIA since this is what a prospective buyer is going to want to see... In store appraisals are generally little more than window dressing, and it would just make sense to know what you have, both as a seller and as a buyer... Won't the jeweler buy the ring/diamond back, less a reasonable cost for assembly and stuff? It would seem that this would be a reasonable course of action to explore, because if the diamond is both good value and beautiful it will be little trouble to place such a nice size stone, once the grade has been established that is... Anyone interested in this diamond should make sure it has a grading certificate from an Independent Grading Lab such as GIA, EGL, IGI, etc. NOT just a local jeweler's $8000 appraisal. My first clue that this diamond is not certified is his claim that it is a G-H color. Certified stones are certified as either G or H, not both. If there is no certificate, he should have it certified by GIA since they are in New York. Then buy it based upon the certificate. Other Questions : Ideas for NON-diamond engagement ring?I'm moving towards asking the big question, but I am *not* a fan of the DeBeers monopoly, which means I'm considering getting her a ring of something other than diamonds. I know that she likes gold, and the colors of Green and Purple. ... Most affordable diamond solitaire earrings?Where can one get an okay pair, maybe not the pair to satiate your whole life's need for diamond earrings, just something good enough to get me through my 20s... but still good enough quality that I'd probably still wear them sometimes, or pass... Platinum Engagement Settings ?We had my ring custom made (in gold). Our jeweler said gram for gram, Pt is 3x the cost of Au. Strength is the biggie, also it resists scratching better. Personally, I like the color of gold better. The platinum settings look too much like ... Engagement Ring Retailer, How to buy engagement ring?Having just started on my search for an engagement ring, I'm wondering, are the prices that the stores give you the list price? In other words, is it expected that you "haggle" on the price as you would for a car?YES!!! We walked into a sto...
