Q.What is so wrong with knockoffs of things?? What things do you buy that are knockoffs and what do you buy that you must have the original?? Do you buy more things that are knockoffs or more things that are originals? Anything specific? Things you have purchased lately? What are some good things that can be replicated and some things that just don't work for you that are knockoffs?
A.don't generally buy knockoffs except for something except like cubic zirconia instead of diamonds. I wouldn't think of spending money for diamond ear studs only to have them lost. Or if I could never buy the real thing, like a diamond bracelet, I will go with cz. Most knock offs, in my opinion most look kind of tacky and not as good as the real thing. If I do buy a knock off its probably for a deliberate reason. For example, I would not buy Uggs because I think they are Uggly. To me they have a limited use. Most are light colored and would get very dirty parading around the streets here. They are too bulky to wear indoors, as I prefer socks and winter clogs. They might be cute on a ski trip so therefore I might buy a knockoff just for this purpose. For purses, its not important to me to have a designer purse. I prefer to have one I like and is functional. Or sometimes I buy a "fun" purse but might not want to invest in the money. Some of the purse brands I have bought are Brighton, Susan Gail, Coach, Perlina, etc. I have a some real designer scarfs and a Hermes scarf. I have 2 Hermes knockoffs. I use them only for inclement weather when it is raining and I need a scarf. They are poly and can get wet. They look nice from a distance but I would not wear them indoors as I would wear a real silk scarf. Hence, the knockoffs serve a specific purpose. When I was younger, I was very style conscious and I only would buy things from Saks, Lord and Taylor, etc. But now I don't care and I buy what I like regardless of where it comes from. If I like something from Wall mart I will buy it. For example, I just went on a jog and I have on a T shirt from Wall Mart, a polar fleece jacket from Lands End, and Capri workout pants from Wall mart. I just bought a suit from TJ Maxx that was Josephine Chaus. So knockoffs don't really hold a big appeal.
