She probably wouldn't call Elayne's creation an a'dam on first inspection either, becuase of this _physical_ dissimilarity. The Sad Bracelets, according to Moggie, will allow 1 or 2 women to control a man wearing them. Whether or not her information is right, however, is subject to speculation. But...given the broad definition of what an a'dam is and does (subject wears a collar, controller wears a bracelet or two, subject is controlled by the bracelet-wearer(s)), calling it a male a'dam isn't as much of a misnomer as you would have people believe. I've thought about it a bit more and I may be wrong about them coinciding with the female a'dam/seanchanization of Luthair Paendrag (sp) (althuogh see New Theory below). The only evidence of the timing of the Sad Bracelet creation was that it was after Moggie's time. Since, it's ommonly accepted that no other ter'angreal and angreal were created after the AOL, _excepting a'dam_, it's more than likely they do date back to the AOL, and the fact that they are made out of cuendillar strengthens this idea. However, a'dam creation was generally unknown.
