Antique Diamond Ring ?

Q.Bought 35 years ago in Italy by a soldier uncle. White gold with a very unusual design, I have a picture but it isn't all that great but I can show it in person anytime, I am located in Garland. It is a wedding set. The jeweler said value was between $1000. and $1200. I am asking $500 firm for extra Christmas money.

A.Where antiques are antiques, when they're 35 years old. But if you ever saw Garland, you'd understand. At age 35, you'd feel like an antique also. I think it may be a repro engagement ring, but it doesn't look engagement-y to me; these days, though anything goes, it seems that any sizeable solitaire or stone-centered, no matter the type, is what says "engagment". Several people thought a pale purple spinel solitaire ring I wore on my right hand was an engagement ring. If you wear yours on your right hand, I doubt anyone would think it was an engagement ring, and even if someone did, no biggie--it's a beautiful ring!
