Most affordable diamond solitaire earrings?
Q.Where can one get an okay pair, maybe not the pair to satiate your whole life's need for diamond earrings, just something good enough to get me through my 20s... but still good enough quality that I'd probably still wear them sometimes, or pass them on to a daughter or niece? I don't like really obvious gold settings against the whiteness of a diamond... but I don't think I can afford platinum. Are there diamonds set in white gold?
A.a few thoughts: 1) have you considered moissanite? 2) yes, white gold is a very common choice for setting diamonds. 3) perhaps rather than buying and replacing it makes more sense to buy an EXCELLENT pair of costume stones and saving so when you do spend, you get exactly what you want. I am probably going to get criticized for posting this, but I truly believe that the most affordable and realistic look would be to purchase large CZs in 14 K white gold settings. NM has some gorgeous ones. Very real looking and pricy at about $125 for ~ 4 carats each. Mucho affordable over real diamonds. Plus even if you paid for the real thing, would you really be comfortable wearing them around? I'll bet people seeing you wearing them will think they are real...just because YOU are wearing them! I have these - they are about 1 carat apiece, set in white gold! I got them at NM for about $75 for the pair. The line is called Fantasia, and I liked them so much I decided to get my engagement ring and wedding band from the line and put the thousands I saved into a down payment on a house instead. They fool everyone, even my mom! I would definitely check these out, they are so worth it!
