Cost of Earring.
Q.I am considering using the 2 diamonds from my Grandmother's engagement ring (which was left to me but is far too big to wear) to make a pair of stud earrings to wear on my wedding day next year. The diamonds are approx 1/4 carat and the ring is white gold (is that the same as platinum?).
A.Then I told my husband that I wanted a 1/2 carat princess cut diamond pendant--E-F color and VVS1 clarity (but that I'd settle for stud earrings). He proceeded to run over to the computer to see what I was reading--he broke out in uproarious laughter, bolted upstairs, slapped on some Givenchy, then bolted back downstairs and shut the computer off. I recall him whispering in my ear, "Your diamond stud has arrived!" I could use some cheering up and diamond earrings would help a lot, Bobbie. I was thinking in terms of maybe diamond stud earrings, one carat each. But I would settle for a navy blue Lincoln with gray interior. Let's see.....maybe you could give me the real directions as to where the Isle of Wright is so I could join you for for tea and soggy pineapple squares. I wear only one earring, usually a gold hoop 1/2" diameter, you cant miss it. Sometimes a 1/2 carat diamond (a CZ actually) stud. Its bigger than any I 've seen on a guy. I was once asked by a GG if it was a new fad. I told her no, just what I liked. She said it look really good.
