Jewelry Q & A

woman's diamond solitaire ring (1.5-2 carat) ?

Q.Looking for 1.5-2 carat diamond solitaire wedding ring for woman. SI clarity and H-I color a must. Preferably in two tone (gold & platinum) and tension or bezel setting.

A.Perhaps we can help? http://www.antiques-index.com Definately go see a guy in NJ named Tom Calisino. He owns a somewhat large diamond importing company, and sells finished jewlery to the public as well as supplying some dealers in NYC. I bought an engagement ring there about a year and a half ago, and I have no regrets, and I highly recommend him. His company is extremely reputable. Check it out. I just went back to get both of our wedding bands there last month, as we were married this past May. The number is (201) 261-6555. Just so you know, I have no ties to this place. I am an officer for a major bank in NY, and I have no interest in this company. My recommendation comes from personal experience. I bought from Maurice Badler, a small company with several offices one of which is or at least used to be in that big sort-of place at the end of the block (5th) on the south side with all the little booths inside it. They seemed very nice and honest, have an excellent return policy, all around good vibes. After buying I took the ring to another place down the street to be evaluated. Sorry I forget the name. In the middle of the block, south side of the street, up some stairs. The ring was appraised at a price exactly where Badler said it would be appraised. The appraiser will also make a "map" of the gem for you so that you can always prove that you did or did not get your ring back whenever you bring it in for repair or whatever. HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting it appraised immediately after your purchase.
